Why tuning matters
Your piano is a living structure. Seasonal humidity and everyday play slowly shift pitch and touch. Regular service keeps the instrument stable, enjoyable, and easier to protect over the long term.

A schedule that works for most homes
For many pianos in the Greater NYC area, we recommend:
- Two visits per year, often aligned with major heating and cooling swings
- A quick check-in if the room has large humidity swings (radiators, large windows, new construction)
When to call sooner
- The piano recently moved (let it settle briefly, then tune)
- It sounds uneven or “wobbly” when you play chords
- It has been more than a year since the last service
- Students or performers are practicing daily and need reliable pitch
Remember: tuning is not only about liking the sound today. It protects the structure of the piano and makes future regulation and voicing work more predictable.
